Castle Rock offers one of the most amazing locations for any building - right by Edinburgh Castle!

But even more importantly we offer a mix of comfort and great facilities with a friendly, laid-back vibe. Sitting just below the castle but above most of the city and facing south, we have bright sunny rooms with wonderful views over Edinburgh to the hills beyond. We are also highly convenient for bus, train, airport transfer etc as well as just a skip away from the city’s vibrant night-life.

Johnston terrace, even though it is the closest street to the Castle and arguably the most central street in the city, is amazingly calm and low traffic - though most of our rooms overlook tranquil gardens rather than the street (for a good night’s sleep!). The property was built in 1844 as a grand and impressive edifice and we have done our very best to emulate its stately character with our artistic interior designs.
